We had been reviewing this and other laundry center units for over a year. After much debate and discussions with salespeople in several stores we decided to purchase this unit. I was looking forward to having a washer and dryer with more capacity. This unit does have that however the number of times I have had the machine go out of balance since the purchase has been absolutely infuriating and unacceptable. It does not matter how we have loaded the machine, large or small, clothing or bedding or towels, every third load or so it goes out of balance. We made sure the unit is level and followed the instructions on how to load the machine correctly. We have spoken to the store where we purchased the unit several times and they have been as helpful as they as possible, but we are still having the same issue. You have to sit by the machine to make sure you stop it before the drum breaks through the front of the machine. We have a limited area in which to place it which happens to be right next to the hot water heater and we simply cannot take the chance of the machine pushing it over. We have spoken to GE and the store where we purchased the machine and have been told not only by the store but other stores as well that this is a very common problem with these new units. After checking other laundry centers except for a front load machine, the drum is loose and has a tendency to unbalance. I do not understand why anyone would make a machine that does this. We are now trapped and have no recourse; I do hope in the near future your engineers will rethink how to build a machine that doesn't unbalance like this. We have had 2 other laundry centers prior to this, the last one for 16 years, and NEVER had a problem with unbalanced loads.

Needed a new washer and previous front loader was too difficult to bend and get clothes in and out. On the whole a good purchase. Easy to install. My kids did it the same night they brought it. It does a good job cleaning clothes. You do hear the agitator but it is a much quieter and softer sound than any top loading machine I have had in the past.
Things I wish it had:
Washer - Buzzer or chime to indicate end of cycle
Dryer - Buzzer or chime to indicate end of cycle
Washer - the ability to soak for more than 15 minutes
Washer - A better idea of how long the different wash cycles last. I try to time loads of wash but without a buzzer to indicate the wash has finished, I haven't quite figured the time for all of them.

I've only had it a few hours, but I've done 3 loads of laundry and it seems to work as described. I read other reviews that spoke of how loud the machine was during operation. I did not find it to be any louder than any other washer or dryer. Sure it makes noises, but all washers and dryers do. For me, it was just a way I knew it was working. The operation instructions were clear and easy to understand. I like all the options for different laundry needs.

Machine works great and we like it, however, it is a loud machine when washing clothes. Fortunately the manual said to listen to the videos for the "sounds" of the machine. We did that and realized this just a loud machine and was not broken.

it holds alot, I can even get my queen size blanket in it to wash. looks can be decieving. easy to use.. the controls are opposite of my old one, so it took some getting used to. Only thing I wish it had was an override so I can fill it fuller than the super setting puts in so when I use the washer cleaner the entire tub is filled. I could do this with my old unit.. very pleased with the unit in general. it's very quiet compared to my old unit, can barely hear it when it fills or empties.

This unit was installed in our home yesterday, and today my three loads of laundry came out clean and dried quickly. I read as many reviews as I could prior to making my purchase. Some reviews were critical of the noise made by the washing component; however, I do not agree. I find the machine to make a 'normal' amount of washing machine 'noise'. I just hope this unit lasts longer than seven years--which is how long our last Kenmore unit like this worked. Seven years...that is so sad. So far, this brand new unit gets 5 stars.

Based on my experience selling the unit at a retail level in the past, i knew the machine worked relatively well. I have had it one week and all is well, drying and washing with good overall results. Surprized it is now made in Mexico but that should not give it any negativity for i have a dodge truck that is made there and has been great. Love the fact dryer does not heat the plug connection at all and is actually cold to touch.

This washer dryer combo is excellent! Large tub, and dryer. Fits perfectly in our new wash room. Saves on water and electricity, I washed and dried everything, all bedding ,clothes ,curtains and the electric bill only went up by 1 point. The two men that delivered and installed it was amazing. Would highly recommend them and the washer dryer combo. The price was great also, no more looking for quarters to do laundry and the dryer dries so fast.
